It’s here, it’s here! The most wonderful night of the year! And as tradition now dictates, I’ve taken a gazillion photos of my 2021 Halloween Home for your viewing pleasure.
Oh! There’s also the customary video, which you’ll find on YouTube.
I’ll apologise now for the lack of atmosphere in the video and poor light quality. You just know that if I tried to play my usual Harry Potter soundtrack in the background, YouTube would’ve had a hissy fit for copyright reasons. Frankly, there was no way I was going to re-shoot, so I went for the safe, if boring, option.
As for the light quality, The School House is much smaller and darker than OneandSeventy and no amount of candlelight is going to brighten up some of those dark corners. Such is life! You’re here and now you have all the lovely bright photos you could ever need to feast upon and I hope you enjoy them.
Those of you who’ve been around a while will no doubt spot a few new additions, including a brand new installation for 2021. I made a WHOLE HEAP of stuff this year, that I just haven’t had chance to post. It’s way too late for 2021, of course, but you already know this is a blog that loves Halloween all year, so watch out for those tutorials in the coming months.
I’ll also have to tell you all about the wonderful retailers I worked with this year. I know! The Witch at OneandSeventy went on tour! But again, unless you follow me on Instagram, I’ve had zero time to write about it.
Honestly, it’s been manic since September and I’m cream crackered! Now you know how much I love Spooky Season, but even I have to admit, Halloween 2021 almost broke me!
Really, Sue? And yet I hear your cogs whirring… you’re already planning Halloween 2022, aren’t you?
‘Tis true! The theme is set and I’m already making my list for next year.
I. Just. Can’t. Help. Myself.
Anyhoo… I’ll stop waffling on. You’re here to see my 2021 Halloween Home, right? Then scroll on, as I share a (rather large!) selection of my favourite photos from around The School House.
Welcome to The Witch at OneandSeventy’s 2021 Halloween Home Tour!
Where Hogwarts meets Haunted Mansion… ish.
Just a few dapper geezers, relaxing, drinking blood, and waiting for Halloween…
THE CUPBOARD UNDER THE STAIRS
The other thing I haven’t yet shared on the blog is my AMAZING trip to The Harry Potter Studios.
I’m rubbish, I know.
But oh very my!! And just in the nick of time, too, so I could get inspiration and a few props for my brand, new Cupboard Under the Stairs. Poor Harry… having to share his bedroom with the ironing board, Dyson, and all those batteries.
Well… Have you SEEN the number of battery-operated props I get through during Spooky Season?
THE WITCH’S HALLOWEEN KITCHEN
The one constant in my Open House over the years is The Witch’s Kitchen (although ready yourself for a big change next year!!)
This is the busiest room in the house and the place where all the little monsters will collect their sweets. I’ve packed it to the GILLS with Halloween, so ready yourself for photo overload.
One of the things The School House has in common with OneandSeventy is its natural walk-through.
In through the front door…
…and out through the back!
These are just interim photos – more will be added in time for Halloween and of course, there will be lights and a few surprises on the night. If we’re lucky with the weather, there may even be fog!
Well that’s it for this year, my fangtastic friends. I hope you enjoyed this little tour of The Witch at OneandSeventy’s 2021 Halloween Home. If you’re not visiting in person, but want to see how it turns out on the night, make sure you follow me on Instagram, where I’m sure to share more spooky stories from The School House.
Until then, Happy Halloween!
A hui hou,
