Hello lovely. How are you enjoying the beautiful spring weather?
Yes, it really is spring. Monday’s Spring Equinox finally heralded the light half of the year, bringing with it longer daylight hours, blue skies and milder weather…
Well… longer daylight hours anyway! I hear some people actually had snow to welcome the new season.
Ugh!
In a bid to remind Mother Nature how things are meant to be, I brought a little sunshine to OneandSeventy in the form of an early spring mantel, which took no time at all to pull together.
There’s a lot of yellow, which is surprising considering it’s not even close to being one of my favourite colours.
Bunnies that I picked up from TK Maxx.
Those spring canvases, which were SO cheap and easy to make, it’s not even funny.
A trio of milk bottles which were a bargain from B&M (set of four, with straws, for £2.99) displayed in a repurposed hyacinth container which fits them to perfection.
And Beloved wonders why I keep so much shit.
With a simple twist of green ribbon, last year’s spring wreath was instantly refreshed.
And the Ostara banner I made for it was moved to the front of the mantel.
Finally, to top it all off, I popped in a trio of daffodils from the front garden.
That I picked in the pouring rain.
Look closely and you can see the droplets still on the flowers.
Drip, drop, drip…
We’re not even in April yet!
Have a great week. I hope spring finally makes an appearance in your world.
A hui hou,
What a lovely mantle display. Interesting that I’ve been craving yellow too. And it’s not one of my favorite colors either. We had a fresh layer of snow last night and even though I’m ready for spring I have to admit it is lovely. Enjoying ‘spring’ as much as I can.
Thanks Molly. Snow. In spring. Now that’s just unfair! I hope it doesn’t linger too long. Stay warm.
I love those milk bottles! And SUCH a bargain! *gets in car, drives to local B&M…
I know, right? Barg!! Gotta love B&M 😉 Thank so much for your lovely comment, Em. Sx
