Welcome to OneandSeventy’s latest seasonal makeover!
Erm. Yeah… I know autumn started last month. But you know how it is…
Better late than never, eh?
Since Beloved and I got back from holiday (was that really only a couple of weeks ago?), I feel like my feet haven’t touched the ground.
Over on the day job I’ve taken on new business and I’m becoming more in demand than ever from my existing clients. Not that I’m complaining, you understand. My clients are lovely and I really enjoy helping them save time in their businesses.
Meanwhile, here on the blog, I’ve also had unexpected new business in the form of several exciting collaborations that I can’t wait to bring you.
Oh. And in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve also been crafting my little fingers to the bone for Halloween.
And loving every moment of it!
I even relocated my glue gun to the garden recently, so as not to have to down tools while savouring the recent, unseasonably warm weather.
Earlier this week, I took a break from my busy schedule to finally pack away summer and break out some autumn cosy.
The arrival of a gorgeous new addition to the OneandSeventy lounge, courtesy of Wayfair did rather encourage me to will on the darker evenings.
Isn’t it magnificent?
For some reason, Beloved has taken exception to my gold pineapple lamp, but I love how it’s entirely refreshed the space and brought a whole new feel to our living room.
Talking of breaks. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed the demise of one of my autumn/winter accessories.
RIP lovely apple/pumpkin-type-arrangement.
You served me well.
I’m ashamed to say, this wasn’t the only casualty. In my usual haste to do far too many things at once, I managed to break a treasured gift from a friend AND Beloved’s camera.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, I also had a smashing time with one of the mercury glass pumpkins I bought during my Halloween Shopping Haul. I was particularly gutted about that one. 5 minutes it was out of storage before I broke it.
Fortunately, I had others to replace it.
Although the camera is an expensive blooper (and I really AM sorry, Beloved!!), we are fortunate to own another. Phew! We’ve also been talking about upgrading so as upset as I was, I did (eventually!) manage to put it down to “one of those things”.
One of those Sue things.
Don’t tell Beloved, but I was actually more devastated about the pumpkin.
No, seriously! You have no idea how hard it is to find stylish Halloween accessories in the UK. I totally scored with TK Maxx. What are the chances of finding another?
That’ll teach me for running at a million miles an hour.
Well… until next time anyway.
Lucky for me, I have wonderful friends ready to soothe my soul by leaving gorgeous flowers on my doorstep that match the new colour scheme.
I mean come on… they couldn’t be any more perfect!
I was dreading the transition from summer to autumn but I have to admit, I’m really enjoying the change of colours and textures.
At the end of another busy day in the office, the cosy autumn décor wraps itself around me like a nice, warm hug.
A hui hou,
