Hands up who remembers Edgar?
And Yorick?
Well, I may have been busy creating a couple of cousins.
Say hello to…
Hawn
Named after Goldie, of course.
And Jack.
Oh come ON! What else would you name him?
Great names, huh?
Mind you, I can’t take any of the credit – it was ALL Beloved’s work.
His mind works in VERY mysterious ways.
I really enjoy making these skulls and they certainly seem to get a lot of love over on Facebook and Instagram.
It’s fair to say this particular make is a labour of love. Each skull takes in the region of 7 hours to complete and no two skulls are the same. Whoever ends up with one of these babies is truly looking at a bespoke piece that will grace any home.
Assuming you love skulls.
And bling!
Seriously, though, they may be a long time in the making, but aside from a pain in the neck (literally!), gluing on all those beads is actually very therapeutic.
So much so, I’ve started adding bling to other things.
But that’s another story.
Suffice to say Beloved is safe…
…for the moment 😉
So what do you think?
Hawn and Jack were the result of a chat with a interior stylist blogger friend, Jane Ashton, who got me all fired up to make different colours.
Do you have a favourite?
I must confess, mine is Edgar. He was my first and I love him to bits, but it was a lot of fun trying out other colours.
So which one would you have?
Maybe you’d like to see a different colour added to the range? Drop a comment below and let me know. But be warned. Each new jewelled skull must have a moniker, so you could be called upon to choose a name!
A hui hou,
I want to inquire about purchasing several for wedding centerpieces. Can I get sizing, pricing, etc, please.
Hi Nicole. I’m so glad you love my jewelled skulls. These ones are life-size replicas made of resin and if you follow the link to the shop (http://suzyhomemaker.co.uk/shop/#shop-skulls), you’ll find the price information. If you wish to place an order, please contact me by hitting the “buy now” button which will ping me an email and we can discuss it further. Best regards to you. Sue x
Hello, I clicked your link for price info and it says page not found. What are your prices for resin jewelled skulls life size? I am after some as wedding centre pieces also but would prefer jawless skulls? .Thanks in advance
Hi Tracey. Yes sorry about that, I recently unpublished my shop for a revamp. The skulls are £150 each. If I can source jawless skulls, I can jewel those no problem. If you’re interested, drop me a line through the contact page. Thank you! Sue x
Hello! Love your skulls! Question? Can you give me some insight on where you get your blank skulls?
Thank you in advance 🙂
Silvia
I’m so glad you love my skulls, Silvia, thank you for your lovely comment. I bought these blank skulls from Amazon: https://amzn.to/2OwWT0O – they’re life-size and so take a lot of jewels and time to complete. I’m sure if you bought smaller ones, you could get them done in far less time. Alternatively, you could commission one from someone who already makes them 😉 Thanks again for your fab feedback. Sue x
Hi Sue,
your skulls are unbelievable !!
What kind of glue do you use?
Greets from Germany,
Stef
Hi Stef. For these, I’ve been using UHU and it’s great, but I’m thinking of switching to Fabri-Tac. Glad you like them! They’ll be coming to my Etsy soon as a Made to Order item 😁
