Witch Boots and Halloween Doormat #HalloweenDecorations

If you’re a regular visitor around these parts, you may be wondering where in the hell I’ve been. Well, despite Google searches to the contrary, The Witch at OneandSeventy is not dead. Ha Ha!

OK, maybe I’m not THAT famous! But I am nevertheless still very much alive. I’ve just been taking an extended break from the blog while the path ahead unfolds.

Said path is still revealing itself so I have no real news as yet, but I just posted one of those “My Story” updates to Facebook and thought I’d share it here.

My Story (in as few words as I can manage)

A Halloween wreath is a stylish way to greet your Trick or Treaters. Find out how to make one here.

When Beloved and I moved to OneandSeventy in 2013, I cried; it wasn’t at all what I’d hyped it up to be over the 4 months I’d been dreaming of our new home. So I got to work making it ours and started documenting my journey in a blog called The World of Suzy Homemaker.

Through that process of decorating our home, I re-discovered myself, re-connected with The Wheel of the Year, and discovered a passion for styling the seasons, especially Halloween.

And that’s when the real magic happened.

It started with the mantel, then moved into the Hallway.

Before long, I was decorating the whole ground floor of our home with handmade and shop-bought spookaliciousness and welcoming 400+ local Trick or Treaters inside to share the Halloween love.

Halloween or Samhain (pronounced Sow-en) as it’s known in my world, is my Christmas. But it’s not just an annual event, Halloween has become part of my life all year round

You could say I eat, sleep and breath the most magical night of the year.

When I’m not planning my next Open House, you’ll find me making and sharing my curious creations here on the Blog, which is now named after my alter ego – The Witch at OneandSeventy.

For now.

Changes are coming!

From that first weepy moment 6 years ago until now, it’s been a magical broomstick ride, but it’s only just the beginning. OneandSeventy is soon to be in the hands of someone else and I’m in full-bore preparation for the next chapter.

Watch this space…

A hui hou,
