Welcome to Suzy Homemaker’s brave new world! I am SO excited to have you here.
Have you had a chance to nosy around the new gaff yet? Waddya think?
Not to be modest, but I love what I’ve done with the place.
Don’t get me wrong, the old blog was great, but it was stressing me out. The Technophobe in me just couldn’t get it to do what I wanted without a ton of fiddling and a LOT of help which meant consequently, I was losing interest.
WordPress is SO much easier and I have a shiny, new website that I’ve really enjoyed building. It’s taken just 2 weeks from a standing start to get The World of Suzy Homemaker to where it is now and I’m really pleased with the way it’s shaping up.
I think the new site looks fresh and modern, and it reflects the new direction my world is taking me.
AND I did it all myself.
Shopping my world
One of the things I’m planning to do is set up a little shop. I’ve already received commissions for my handmade book, which has done wonders for my confidence!
I’m going to offer a little corner of my world where you can buy more of my creations, as well as some of the home styling accessories I’ve used around OneandSeventy.
You may have noticed there’s not much shopping to be had just yet; Suzy’s Shop is very much a work in progress. But there will be an eclectic mix of bits and pieces, including seasonal makes (think Halloween!) and some of my handmade artwork.
Art fit for a fashion queen
One of my latest creations is a series of images I like to call “Dressing up”. I’ve designed these pictures to be displayed as a set, but they can also be purchased individually.
Each frame is 11cm high by 10cm wide and features the silhouette of a woman wearing a dress in a colour of your choice. There are several designs to choose from and every one is individually cut and layered by hand to create a 3d image, before being mounted in a black frame.
These are the first of the designs, but I have several more in the pipeline, from different dresses, to ladies in trousers, and even ladies in swimwear. Each one is beautifully simple, and will add a stylish note to any home.
Although not yet available in the shop, I’m thrilled to offer these for sale now. Priced at £12 for a set of three or £4.99 each, they’re both stylish and reasonably priced.
If you’d like to be one of the first to own a set of Dressing up by Suzy Homemaker, please drop me a line. If you’re interested in a different design or colour, let me know.
You know, just in case you forget to do it before you leave here.
I have all bases covered.
I hope you love Dressing up as much as I do. As always, I’d love to know what you think.
How are you finding the new site? What do you think of the shop idea? Perhaps you have a product suggestion, or you’ve seen something else you like?
