***UPDATE*** There’s now a 2018 Home Tour Video on YouTube. Scroll down to the end for the link.
This is it. The Big One! The moment I get to take you on a tour of The Witch at OneandSeventy’s Halloween Home 2018. After 12 months of plotting and planning, countless lists, hours of crafting and sharing, and all the while talking the ears off anyone who will listen (soz!)… Witching Hour is finally upon us.
Whooo!
And it’s my best Halloween yet!
On Saturday, Beloved and I hosted our very first VIP Preview Evening, our way of thanking some amazing people who helped get us here. From friends and local business owners, whose support and encouragement has been invaluable, to representatives of Tesco’s Community Team who generously provided the sweets for this year’s little monsters.
A very special shout out is reserved for my wonderful friend Amanda who between court appearances in her day job as a solicitor, managed to find time to whip up several batches of delicious cupcakes!
Yum!
Thanks so much to everyone who came; I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Halloween Home Tour
Someone who was unable to make it was über talented, Staffordshire-based photographer, Claire Meldrum. You may remember her stunning images from last year’s Halloween Home Tour. I am beyond excited to bring you more of her wonderful work again this year and quite frankly, Claire has outdone herself. Just wait until you see her photos. OH. VERY. MY!!!
Suffice to say, I’ve saved the best for last, lest you discover how pale mine are in comparison.
There aren’t enough words to convey my thanks to Claire for donating her time and talent to present my 2018 Halloween Home in such creeptacular fashion. Not only that but she turned around her stunning work in just one night! I am absolutely blown away. If you’re in Staffordshire or Derbyshire and looking for a great photographer, Claire is your woman! Hit her up here.
So, without further ado, allow me to take you on a tour of the witch’s lair. I really did try to limit myself to my favourites but you know that was never going to work. This was always going to be a photo overload of epic proportions, so settle yourself in. I’ve grouped my lot into rooms, as you move through the house. Claire’s require no explanation.
*swoon*

Phew! Congratulations if you made it this far!
Now grab yourself another cuppa and check out the video. I’ve managed to make it shorter than last year, but it’s still quite lengthy, so buckle in… and ignore the awful voiceover!
I hope you enjoyed this year’s decorations as much as I enjoyed putting them together. If you’re coming to see them in person, I look forward to welcoming you. There are still some surprises in store for OneandSeventy’s Trick or Treaters 😉
For those of you who can’t make it, I hope you have a spooktacular Halloween whatever you’re doing. Here’s to the next 12 months!
A hui hou,
Incredibly talented, fabulous work, here’s to the next 12 months of make’s
Thanks so much Sam! Glad you enjoyed the tour. It’s been hard work but thoroughly enjoyable! Samhain blessings to you xx
Spooktacular Suzy! All that hard work has come to this fabulous display of Halloween Love.
You and Beloved should be very proud.
Cheers Kaz xx
Thanks Kaz. Beloved would say he had nothing to do with it, but he does more than he knows. I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out. I can’t wait to share it with the monsters tomorrow! Samhain Blessings to you my lovely x
Wow, this is unbelievable! How long does it takes you to decorate for Halloween? What imagination and talent ! Blessings
Thanks Doreen! I started with the circus canopy early September, mainly because I had no idea how 8 was going to achieve it. The rest followed in stages. I have to do it a bit at a time a) to fit it in around the day job but also, to give Beloved plenty of time to get used to each change!! lol Thanks again for your kind words, I’m so glad you like it. Samhain Blessings to you x
Your home is truly spooktacular!! I can only imagine how much work it required.
Happy Halloween!
Thanks so much Alice. It is a lot of work but I love it. I did spread it out this year, which helped to reduce the stress levels and give me lots of faffing time! lol Samhain Blessings to you xx
Yowzah! A huge thanks to your helpers/sponsors and I know that you work on yours all year much as I do, but man, you just blow me away.
I shared your post with the crazy creative library employee where I volunteer that puts me to shame as well and she does it on an even tighter budget than I do at home. I plan to hit everywhere tomorrow for the clearance sales and last night I re-wired all of my battery powered spooky stuff to run on plugs so that I could connect them to Alexa. Alexa, turn on the Lightning. Alexa, turn on the Raven. etc.
You are my idol, now breathe and take a break while basking proudly in your hard work! Thank you always for your inspiration, making me strive higher, and affirming that I am not the only one doing this 365!
Wow, Gwen, thank you so much for your wonderful comments. You and I must talk offline sometime about this talent you have of turning battery-operated into mains!! Alexa and Hue are both close friends at this time of year. Don’t know what I’d do without them 😉 Thanks again for your fab feedback. So happy you love it xx
Absolutely fantastic Halloween display. Love the Skele family and the palmistry table. Brilliant. Happy All Hallows Eve to you and Beloved.
Thanks Debbie! I’m really happy with the fortune teller room, but it’s been a bugger to photograph. Claire did an amazing job! Samhain blessings to you and yours x
You’ve outdone yourself this year Missus! Love it!! Happy Halloween xxxx
Thanks Gill. I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out 😊 Samhain Blessings to you guys xx
Looks incredible! Not surprisingly of course, you’re the mistress of all things Halloween and craft so a marvellous equation for a spooky, great night. So proud! Xxxx
Ah, thanks Moo. So glad you like it. I feel a new monicker coming on “Mistress of all things Halloween & Craft”….! Mwah x
Where did you get the standing skeleton with coffin? Your house is amazing. Such fun. It takes me 3 weeks to decorate my house for Halloween. Always looking for new things to add to my collection.
Hi Sandy. I bought the butler skeleton from HomeSense (TK Maxx) in 2018. I’m like you! As soon as September arrives, the decorating begins (well… is added to. Ha!) Thanks so much for dropping by and for your kind comments. Sue x
