Do you ever get days when you just feel meh?
You wake up and can’t be arsed?
Your get up and go…
…has got up and gone?
And you think “what’s the point?”
Some days, it’s all you can to to haul your sorry self out of bed when all you’d rather do is pull the duvet up over your head and fall into a deep sleep until the darkness passes.
Yep. Me too.
I’ll be honest. I’ve been struggling this past couple of weeks. I don’t know why, I just have. I’ve felt lonely and alone, insignificant and like I’m not “doing enough”.
It can be something really small that kicks it off. So small, you can’t even put your finger on it. Everything’s moseying along nicely and you might take a peek at what everyone else is doing and BAM! Comparisonitis hits you like a bitch.
THEY all seem to be enjoying life.
THEY all seem to be busy doing interesting stuff.
THEY all seem to be successful.
And suddenly, nothing I’ve done to date matters. None of the achievements, the successes, or the projects I’ve completed give me any comfort.
Things are just meh.
Even crafting hasn’t helped.
Pack of 8 gold leaf, pastel coloured eggs – £5.99
So. I have no Suzy H masterpiece to reveal this week. Instead, I thought I’d share a little haul I scored from TK Maxx, on the off chance you’re at all inspired to decorate for Easter.
I’m also hoping that if I look at shiny new things long enough, they’ll ignite a spark of creativity and motivate me to unpack the rest of the Easter decor.
As much as I love it, I’m already bored with the latest mantel makeover, so I could sure use the inspiration myself. And I just know these beauties are going to go brilliantly with the black and white eggs I made last year.
Jar of hanging eggs £3.99 | Tube of 9 black and white hanging eggs £2.99 |
Happy Easter hanging eggs £4.99
I cannot take the credit for these great finds, most of them were spotted by our Daughter-in-Law. Mrs Number One has a huge local store that’s brimming with really great stuff, stuff we don’t seem to get here in Staffordshire. Mrs No.1 has become my unofficial eyes and ears for new seasonal stock – she is my TK Maxx Shopping Queen!
So, if you do feel like doing a little seasonal decorating, but don’t want to break the bank, get yourself to TK Maxx. Each store is different, so I can’t guarantee you’ll pick up the same things as me, but it’s always worth a rummage.
Oh! And that includes the non-seasonal shelves. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have already seen the cute bunny tray I used on the mantel. Another great TK Maxx find that was hiding in the kitchen section.
White bunny tray with gold rim £3.99
Oh! That gold bunny was also a TK Maxx score from last year. He’s a cute li’l fella, got some weight to him too. No wonder he looks so proud up there on the mantel.
TK Maxx also stocks wreaths – you know, if you don’t fancy making your own.
Well that’s it for now. Fingers crossed, by the time I see you next I’ll be feeling much more myself. In the meantime, I hope you have a great week and sunshine fills your heart.
A hui hou,
