Now you know how much I love Black and White.
And I’m no stranger to a bit of bling either, as those jewelled skulls will attest.
So when it came to creating a little something for Valentine’s Day, combining the two was a no brainer.
Remember that box of craft goodies I won for my Christmas Home Tour? Well guess what else came out of it.
Yes, there. At the front.
Not one, but two wooden hearts.
Decent sized ones, too.
I knew right away I wanted them black.
Tick.
Then it was a matter of milliseconds before I decided on bling.
Tick.
And then they looked kinda unfinished.
Dammit.
I’d planned to keep them separate, hanging them individually with ribbons but as I fiddled, this happened.
And I thought. Oooooh. I like that.
So I took it to a vote. I posted the unfinished hearts to the Facebook crafting community and the response was unanimous. They were gorgeous, but there was something missing.
Someone suggested “When two hearts become one” and I thought “Oooooooh!”
And promptly had a Phil Collins ear worm.
Two hearts,
Believing in just one mind.
(Oh I don’t know why; it just happens!)
And then it came to me.
I fired up the Cricut and before Phil could break into a rendition of Another Day in Paradise, my design was cut on white vinyl and applied to the hearts.
Ta da!
Sod Valentine’s Day, ‘Two Hearts’ has already found a permanent home in the OneandSeventy hallway.
There. Above the pictures on the left.
It even matches the candelabra decal on the other wall.
Did I mention I like a bit of bling?
It looks great against the white and makes a lovely addition to the picture wall, especially as each of those frames houses a line from a romantic poem Beloved wrote for me.
Sickening, isn’t it?
What can I say? We got a groovy kind of love.
…But Seriously! 😉

*swoon* Those are AMAZING! Bonus – now I have Phil Collins songs playing in my head. *grin* <3 <3
Thanks so much Traci! Can’t beat a bit of Phil Collins 😉
It’s fantastic, I love it!
Thanks Jennifer! Maybe not exactly what you were expecting when you put together that box of goodies?! Thank you so much again x
