Gothic Coffin Bookmarks by The Witch at OneandSeventy

Beloved isn’t a fan of Yuleoween, Springoween, or Summerween. He remains stubbonly steadfast in his opinion that just because you add a suffix, doesn’t make it so.

Au contraire mon ami. Au contraire!

If it means injecting a little bit of Halloween into every season, then I’m more than happy to join my spookalicious friends on Insta in adding “(o)ween” to as many seasonal celebrations as I possibly can.

Including Valentine’s Day or… Valoween.

If you’ve been following the blog for some time, you’ll know that Beloved and I don’t really partake in the commercial side of seasonal events. Christmasween (it really is a thing!) and especially Valentine’s Day are just not our bag. This year, we’ll have been together 29 years, married 28 and we’re still as sickeningly loved up as ever. We express our love daily; we don’t need a mass commercial display of affection.

Mind you, 10 straight months of 24-hour contact and one would be forgiven the occasional lean towards bodily harm!

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t boycott the love “holiday” altogether. You know me… any excuse to decorate!

Not that I go over the top, you understand!

But there are plenty of romantic souls out there to warrant a couple of Witch at OneandSeventy makes, so I’ve added a couple of Valoween gift ideas to my Etsy.

Gothic Heart Boxes

£25 + delivery

My Gothic Heart Boxes were so popular over Christmasween (ha!) that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make more for Valoween.

Funnily enough, it was Beloved’s idea. Which is surprising really, given his views on the subject.

In this batch, each Wooden Heart Box is painted black, lined in red, and features a hand-cast Gothic embellishment.

Not gonna lie, those compartments are fiddly, but well worth the effort, I think you’ll agree.

My Gothic Heart Boxes make a deliciously dark addition to your dressing table and can be used for jewellery or other trinkets.

I have a limited number, so if you fancy one for your Valentine or yourself (you are your own best Valentine, after all!), head on over to Etsy and place your order.

Your Coffin or Mine?

New for 2021 is a brand new product. Coffin Bookmarks!

We witches do love a book or three and this witch detests folded corners. So, when a recent hunt around the house resulted in a fruitless search for a bookmark, I decided to make my own. I was so pleased with the way they turned out, I added them to my Etsy, creating four unique designs, especially for Valoween.

Although of course, they will suit any dark heart all year round!

Each Coffin bookmark is ahem, shaped like a coffin, triple-layered and finished with a black tassel.

The middle is 240gsm card, which in turn is sandwiched between a layer of luscious red velvet and an entirely unique top design by Yours Truly that’s printed on premium paper.

The result is a sturdy bookmark that will hold your page in style.

For a measly 55p on the normal designs, I’m even offering a personalised page keeper with your choice of name up to a maximum of 9 letters.

Now you can’t say fairer than that!

The rose design is already proving very popular and as Valoween approaches, I anticipate my bookmarks will be in high demand. So, if you want to get your hands on one, best get your order in now!

I hope you like the latest additions to The Witch at OneandSeventy’s Etsy shop.
